Michael Jackson's spirit... in Bangalore!
Michael Jackson's spirit has found a new home... in Neeraj Verma's body! This accidental discovery was made on the dance floor of Zanzibar last night when Neeraj showed us some interesting MJ moves... long live the king and his spirit!
While the venue was switched last minute, it was raining and next week was loaded with tests & submissions, it was still good to see a decent crowd make it to the party. Sumat & I made the most of the unlimited beer for which mother nature is punishing me today via a bad hangover. The dance started slowly and sluggishly but boy... what pace it picked up in the end! While most of the gang was expected to hold its own on the dance floor, the surprise for me was Shreepal. I never knew that this soft spoken person had so much of dance in him! But the real treat was watching Govind dance so energetically... we have never seen him so active ever! Akash was his usual boisterous self and we did do his trademark - hand-in-hand swinging dance, which has become his signature style.
The DJ obliged us with some Punjabi numbers at the end, which met with enthusiastic response from the group and got everyone really going. The 2 cute couples - Ankur-Nitya & Priti-husband (sorry couldn't catch his name over all the noise) swaying together on the dance floor brought back old memories... may that cute chemistry always remain. By the way Priti, I did wiggle my toes... that counts as dance in my dictionary! Sandeep, Vish and Mahesh were their usual enthusiastic selves and Utsav cheered them on from the sidelines.
As always, we got chased away by the cops and ended up taking small alleys to reach Paramount. This is one of the strangest restaurants I have come across. While in the day time it has hardly any takers and the food is iffy, post midnight it is a godsend and the food tastes like manna from heaven! After dinner, we drove back home and my apologies to Sandeep for the driving... well after 10 mugs of beer, road bumps are a minor driving irritant.
I am already looking forward to the next party - dancing (toe wiggling) shoes polished and party t-shirt ready...
